I was down in Naples all of last week. I have a boat I keep on Goodland, and took it out almost every day or every night. The windy conditions kept me inside most days, but the night fishing was really great. I averaged about 4 snook an evening (and would lose at least that many a night). My biggest was 7 pounds. Usually on the falling tide. Black EP minnows usually did the trick. The lady fish were almost a nuisance most nights (if they weren't so much fun to catch on a fly rod). I also had a few surpise bites from jacks in the 5 pound range. Great fun!! I also jumped 4 tarpon in the 20 - 30 pound range, but wasn't able to offically release any. With the weather warming up, I have to believe the night fishing under the docks will only get better. Get out there and try if you never have!! It is a blast. It helps if you have someone else on the boat though for safety reasons and to control the trolling motor while you are hooked into a fish.
Tight lines!

Hi Pete,
I'd be up for that, but I'm probably not gonna be back down there until June. I usually try to get down there once every month or two (except during hunting season from Oct. and Nov.) Keep in touch, and if our trips down there overlap, I'd be happy to have you on the boat. It does really make things easier and more enjoyable to have someone else on the boat to steer the trolling motor, etc. while the other person casts/fights fish. My wife is 5 months pregnant, so hanging out on a 19 foot bay boat gets old really quick for her these days (especially at night). Some of my favorite docks to fish at night are literally 1 minute from my marina. It's great fun!!
Take Care, Aaron
