Capt. Ken reports:

A cold front came through late last week and shuffled the deck when it comes to local fishing. We had been experiencing weather usually expected in the late spring not in February. Tarpon, snook and redfish were eating flies and baits.

This week the fishing will improve with each warm day. The water temperature has fallen 10-12 degrees but will slowly inch up. Once the water reaches back into the 70s, the fishing should be excellent. With the new moon coming up late this week, the tide should strengthen which will trigger a good bite with snook and seatrout.

Take a kid fishing. Mornings or afternoons. Find some time to get them in
the outdoors.

Tight lines, Ken Chambers
